Fast Ways to Lose 10 Pounds

A healthy diet plan should encourage a sensible weight loss of one or two pounds a week. However, sometimes fast weight loss might kick-start a diet or there may be a special occasion that you want to lose weight for. Be aware, though, that fast weight loss may be only temporary, as much of it will be water rather than fat.

Juice Fasting

    A juice fast or smoothie fast involves drinking only liquids for a certain length of time. This is hard on your body, so don't repeat the diet too often. Use fresh fruit and vegetables and a juicer to make healthy juices, and drink this five times a day.

Carb Cutting

    Cut out carbohydrates from your diet. Having no carboyhdrates may make you feel tired and sick, though. A study by the Bassett Research Institute in Cooperstown, New York showed that some patients felt tired and nauseated while eating a low-carbohydrate diet. Carbohydrates are found in breads, pasta, processed meats and even fruit.

Exercise

    If you want to lose weight fast, remember to exercise. Make an exercise plan that you can follow, and implement it with a low-calorie, low-fat diet. Include at least 60 minutes of cardio every day. Cardio includes running, skipping, swimming or even dancing. Also try interval training, short bursts of hard effort followed by longer periods of easy effort. For example 15 seconds of sprinting, followed by 2 minutes of jogging. Jason Talanian, a PhD student in the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences studied eight subjects who started interval training experienced an increase in fat used.
